The girls are doing great!!

Haley is excelling with her speech and doing really well still with her glasses.

Megan is a little spitfire to say the least.

They are truly a job to be around. I will post some pictures, they are growing into little girls so quickly.

Fall Fun

So mommy started working a job this week, that requires her to be gone most of the week. Thankfully Megan and Haley have the best Nannies in the world, R & A. Here are some photos that R took while mommy was at work. It was indoor leaf fun, oh and R's chef hat, haha (she is going to culinary arts school).

The Girls

I know, I know it has been forever. Life seems to take over sometimes. The girls are doing amazing. Growing like weeds. We recently had to get H new glasses. She is now wearing bifocals. H's right eye is still turning in too far even with the glasses, the Dr was able to squeeze us in for an appointment and decided to try this last thing before surgery. Well it isn't working. We go back to see him on 11/3 and will find out where we go from there. M is doing well also. M has been sick for a few days with a fever on and off, her molars are coming in. Through it all though, they are learning new things and surprising us every day with things.

When we sneeze, they say "bless you", we hear "please" and "thank you" it is so wonderful to see the learning before our eyes. Here are a couple of pics taken yesterday.

Pretty Girls

Pretty girls in pretty dresses from their Aunt Jessica/Uncle Andy and ME/Drew. They got them for their birthday and they are adorable, just wanted to share.

Finger Painting

We tried finger printing today!! It actually went much better than expected. Here are some pictures of our progress this week. Oh and by the way they were suppose to paint the letter A, although you can't tell, LOL.

"School"

We decided to do some homeschool preschool with the girls. So the girls did their first day today. The theme for the week is cows and this is their first masterpiece. We talked about cows today, colored a picture, sang Old MacDonald and read a book.

Sick Twinkies

Sorry it has been awhile, the girls have been under the weather to say the least. Last Friday J sent me a message a little concerned about Haley, she wasn't acting like herself and seemed to be getting a fever. It got a little worse on Saturday and by Sat night the fever had spiked and she wasn't really eating or drinking. We called the after hours ped and they made an appointment for us for Sunday am with the dr. So they did the throat culture and it is negative and they still can't figure it out. The dr gave us the update dosaging for motrin/tylenol and gave H some motrin and H perked up and we went home. FF to sunday night and she fell back into the same rut so I called Monday am and went back to the dr with her (and Megan and J). The said she had a viral throat infection, just keep pushing liquids and it would clear up. Well on Tuesay she woke up much better and M decided it was her turn. M has it in the upper respiratory version, she has more snot than any one kid should be allowed.

They both are doing well though, eating drinking etc. H's vocabulary has exploded over the past few weeks and M is now enjoying talking on the phone and having conversations with anyone who will try and listen.

Looking Back

I was looking at some stuff on my lap top the other day and I happened upon some old video of the girls. Needless to say they were priceless. J and I were looking at them in awe. We have video when Haley first learned to clap and Megan learning how to walk. I will have to try and get them uploaded on to here sometime this week. It really is amazing to go back and look at those pictures and see how far those 2 little ones have come. Every day I am so thankful for everything I have been given especially those two bundles of joy whom never cease to amaze me.

They have both learned how to give real kisses. Haley will actually pull your face towards hers and kiss you it is the sweetest thing in the world to me. Megan is a little diva and will only kiss on her terms. It is funny if she doesn't want to, she will shake her head and say no to you. I swear I have no clue where they get these things from.

Potty Training

This is the next task to overcome in our home. I think we are going to get started on this this coming week. It is about time, Megan is really wanting to. She usually tells us when she goes or has to go, so I think we are going to start with her and see how it goes. I think I am pretty well prepared I just need to get J and R on board and pick up a seat for the toilet and we will be good to go. I am sure I will be blogging more with all the new things once we start that.

Hi Everyone!

Hi all! The girls are doing great! We switched them back into their cribs on Saturday am and it has been great. They are taking 2-2.5 hour naps again and sleeping peacefully through the night with minimal effort to get them to go to bed. Ahh if we had only not changed them in the first place, haha.

Other than that they are doing great. Megan has taken off in her verbal skills, she names animals, food and asks for things more specifically now. Haley is still a little slower in that department but we see her picking up new things every day. It amazes me more and more what they can do and what they understand.

I am still disappointed with some of our family that did not participate in the girls birthday. It is sad to me that my girls miss out and I know as they get older it will get harder on them. I find it hard to explain at this age and I can only imagine as they get older it will be even harder to explain to them why certain family members are not participating.

Cribs

The girls are going back in them. We have come to the realization that the girls just aren't ready to be in beds. They still really need the nap in the afternoon and aren't taking that with the beds. J is in the process of doing that today and we shall see. I am going to purchase a 2nd crib tent, we have one from my cousin (who has twins) so we just need one. The girls and I will be on that project shortly.

Toddler Beds

The toddler bed transition is not going so well for the girls. Megan is having a really hard time with it. We end up having to stay with them until they fall asleep and then tonight Megan has been up for just over 2 hours now. I think we might go back to cribs. This is one awful idea mommy had.

2 Year Stats

Well it is official, Haley is a giant!!!

Haley 36" and 30lbs
Megan 33" and 25.5lbs

The doctor said they are both doing great!! Everything is what it should be and then some.

Happy 2nd Birthday

Dear Megan & Haley,

Happy Birthday to my precious little gifts from God. You were brought into my life 2 years ago and brought your daddy and me so much joy. The past 2 years have been filled with love and excitement and I am so excited to see what this new year will bring.

Hugging

So the girls have been hugging each other. I came home from work early tonight, and lo and behold, the the girls were full on hugging each other. It was the best thing ever. I think I have pictures (I think J took them), if I do I will definitely post them.

The Week With Nana

Nana spent the week with us. The girls had the best time. Nana helped take the girls for those beautiful pictures you saw and just did so much for us. The girls spend their first night away from mom and dad, or should I say mom and dad spend their first night away from the girls. Nana did a really great job with them and I swear the girls didn't even care when we got home yesterday morning. There really isn't a whole lot more going on now until the girls bday, which I need to get on with the planning of that.

Talking

The girls are talking up a storm. Today at KMart my mom took Megan through the toy isle and all I hear is "woooooowwwwww" from Megan, hillarious!!! Haley of course has to point out Pablo everywhere we go! It is quite funny. Haley and I had a whole conversation this morning, that went something like this...

Me:"morning:
H: "how you"
Me:"good, how are you?"
H: "good"

Followed by lots of laughter from me, haha.

"Papa"

We went to go and visit my mom and dad this weekend "nana and papa". The girls don't get to see Papa much as he doesn't come to visit us very often. However, both of the girls were saying "Papa" from the moment they saw him. I think Nana was a little jealous!! We had a fun weekend and the girls couldn't get enough of Nana and Papa. So much so that for the first hour of the trip home Megan called for "Papa".

Here is a picture of Megan with Papa and Max. The camera battery died not long after taking this picture so no pics of Miss Haley from this weekend.

Backyardigans

We took the girls to see the Backyardigans (live) on Tuesday the 24th!! Oh my gosh was it fun. My mom got the girls tickets for their bday and they had a blast. Megan watched the show in complete aww of the world and Haley just wanted to get down on stage with them. I didn't really get any good pictures but here are a couple of the girls and of the show.

A couple of updated pictures of the girls. Life has been keeping us busy. Nana is coming to visit tomorrow and we are goign to see the Backyardigans on Tuesday. Then heading up to RI to visit nanna and papa for the weekend..

Aquarium Pictures!

Hi All

Sorry it has been a while things have been hectic. J and I were both off for 4 days in a row, amazing I know!!! We had a great time with the girls and enjoyed every minute of it. I will post some pictures very soon of our aquarium trip. The girls had a great time visiting "nemo"!!!

Pink Duct Tape

Yup that is right, H's glasses are currently being held together with pink duct tape. Oh the wonders of modern technology. They broke for the 3rd time and Wal-Mart didn't have them in stock. I am going to try and order her some new one's once these come in. I can't deal with them breaking every 2-3 weeks.

On the plus side she is wearing the strap that holds them on and seems to be wearing them a little more, go figure.

Glasses

Haley was doing so well and now she is refusing them again. It is really frustrating and I feel like we are at our wits end with her. I know it isn't her fault she isn't even 2. Hopefully we can get her to wear them again.

Birthday Party Fun

The girls attended their first birthday party this weekend. They had a blast to say the least and so did their mom and dad, haha. Our friend Jess's daughter ME, turned 3 on the 20th and her party was this weekend. Here a few pics which show how much fun the girls had.

Megan

Has started the terrible 2's way too early!!! Everytime we tell her no she has the biggest fit!!! She cries and sobs because we said no. I swear it is the worst sound. We don't give in and she eventually stops but geez you would think it is the end of the world the way she goes on. Megan's vocabulary is improving daily. Sometimes she says things and we are like where did she get that from. She also knew red and blue the other day!! Oh and she says something in spanish (go dora).

Haley

I noticed this morning that Haley's left eye appears to be doing the same thing as her right now. Not as drastic as her right eye and it was before putting her glasses on. I know I shouldn't worry so much but I do. She is doing great for not being 2 and wearing these glasses. I am so proud of her for being so great with them. I am very nervous about this weekend. We have a birthday party to go to and I am worried about them falling off, not wanting to wear them and the sun. The light really bothers her eyes due to the dilation. I am going to bring a couple of different hats and hope that works.

I am realy looking forward to the birthday party this weekend!!!

A Day In The Life

I woke up this morning at 6:15 to Megan screaming. Not entirely unusual since she tries to undress herself and usually gets stuck. She had calmed down though so I took my time. I heard the girls playing, again not unusual. They do this screaching thing. So then Megan starts screaming again, I go up to get them and wouldn't you know it that Megan is in Haley's crib!!! I have no clue how she got in there. I didn't hear any banging, no clue!!

We went to pick up R today since she didn't have a car. The girls enjoy the car ride and watch "The Tigger Movie". One of their favs, they have a few. Haley is doing this new thing. She pulls you to the bathroom or the kitchen. She grabs your hand and just takes you. Sometimes she want to go in the bathroom other times she just wants you to knock on the door. Either way it is weird, LOL. Megan is well Megan. She copies everything we do, everything R does. It is funny, if R is sitting on the couch a certain way, Megan will copy her to a T.

These two little girls have brought so much joy to our lives. As I mentioned previously Haley is starting to wear her glasses more. It isn't as much of a struggle to get her to put them on and keep them on. As with any 22 month old she has her moments, but given the circumstances it is going well. Fingers crossed she keeps it up.
